Istead Rise Bowls Club has been bringing people together through the sport of bowls since January 1986. Whether you're looking for a new hobby, a way to keep active, or simply some good company, you'll find it all here.
We play both indoor and outdoor bowls throughout the year — indoors at Istead Rise Community Centre from October to April, and out on the beautiful green at Swanscombe Park from May to September. Our practice sessions run twice a week and there's no need to book — just come along and we'll make you feel right at home.
No experience? No problem. We've welcomed plenty of complete beginners over the years and we're more than happy to show you the ropes. Bowls is a wonderfully sociable sport that anyone can enjoy, whatever their age or fitness level.

Indoor Season
We play indoors at Istead Rise Community Centre through the autumn and winter months, keeping the game going whatever the weather.
About indoor bowlsOutdoor Season
Come spring, we move to the beautiful outdoor green at Swanscombe Park, where we have use of a full clubhouse courtesy of Swanscombe Council.
